Key takeaways

  • The monthly price is set by four choices: role, experience level, talent market and quantity. Language and working hours shape the price through the market they point to.
  • Every role is priced at Junior, Mid and Senior. Choosing the level the work actually needs is usually the biggest lever you control.
  • Remoteli charges one rolling monthly fee per professional, with no setup fees. Prices exclude VAT.
  • Standard subscriptions cover a full-time, 180-hour month. Extra hours are by agreement, and cover during annual leave is not included automatically.

Hiring a remote professional in Africa through Remoteli costs one monthly fee per person. That fee is set by four choices: the role, the experience level, the talent market and how many people you need. Two further requirements, the working language and the hours the role must overlap with, matter because they shape which market is recommended. The starting prices below are pulled live from Remoteli's price list, so they are always current.

This guide shows those starting prices, explains how each factor moves the number, and is clear about what the fee includes and what it leaves to you. If you are weighing Africa against other regions, our comparison of Africa, the Philippines and India covers that decision separately, and the complete guide to hiring talent in Africa covers the wider process.

Starting Prices for Common Roles

Each figure is the lowest current monthly price for the role across Remoteli's eight markets, before VAT. It is a floor, not a quote: your own price depends on the level and market your requirements point to.

Specialist technical roles start higher than generalist support roles, and within any role the price steps up from Junior to Mid to Senior. For role-by-role cost guides compared with UK hiring, see what a virtual assistant costs, the cost of a customer service agent and the cost to hire a software developer.

Five Factors That Move the Monthly Price

1. The Role

Remoteli prices 38 roles across eight services, from administrative support and customer experience to finance, data and software development. Each role has its own price, reflecting the depth of skill it needs. Browse them on the Services page.

2. Experience Level

Every role is offered at Junior (1–2 years), Mid (3–5 years) and Senior (5+ years). Junior suits documented, process-led work with a manager close by. Senior earns its price when the person will work independently, make judgement calls or build something from scratch. Mid covers the large middle ground, and is often the better value when a Senior hire feels safe but the work is already well defined.

3. Talent Market

Prices differ between Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Egypt, Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire. These are the lowest current starting prices across all roles in five of them:

You do not normally pick a market by price. Remoteli recommends one from your role, language, working hours and experience level, and you can still choose a different market yourself. How Remoteli recommends a talent market explains the logic.

4. Language and Working Hours

Every Remoteli professional works in business-level English. A French requirement points to Senegal or Côte d'Ivoire, and Arabic to Egypt. The working zone matters too: in Remoteli's recommendation data, most English-language roles at Junior and Mid level point to Ghana, Nigeria or Kenya depending on the hours, while Senior roles most often point to South Africa. Because the market changes, so can the price.

5. Quantity

Pricing is per professional, so two people cost two fees. Teams can mix roles, levels and markets, and you can add a line whenever the work grows.

Three Scenarios, Three Different Prices

These examples use Remoteli's live recommendation data to show how the factors combine. Prices are not quoted because they change; the Solution Builder shows the current figure for any combination.

A Junior Virtual Assistant on UK hours. A small UK consultancy needs diary management, inbox triage and travel bookings, in English, on a GMT day. The recommended market is Ghana, and the role sits towards the lower end of Remoteli's pricing.

Two Mid French-speaking Customer Support professionals. A European e-commerce brand needs French-language support on European hours. The recommendation is Senegal, and the monthly cost is two fees at the Mid price for that market. At Senior level, the same requirement points to Côte d'Ivoire instead. Our guide to French-speaking talent in Africa covers both markets.

A Senior Back-End developer on North American hours. A US software company wants someone to own part of its platform with little supervision. For this role on North American hours, Junior and Mid point to Nigeria, while Senior points to South Africa. Senior technical work sits at the top of the price range.

What the Monthly Fee Includes

A standard Remoteli subscription covers a dedicated, full-time professional working 180 hours a month, together with Remoteli's recruitment and matching (including a shortlist to choose from) and ongoing operational and client support around the engagement.

It does not include equipment or connectivity provided by Remoteli. Professionals work remotely and generally use their own laptop, internet or data and working space. Software licences and accounts for your own tools are set up by you, as for any hire, so include them on both sides of any cost comparison.

There are no setup fees and the subscription rolls monthly; the Remoteli FAQ explains billing and cancellation. If a professional is not the right fit, you can ask for a replacement. Provided Remoteli selects and vets the replacement, it will be put forward within two full business days of your request, and usually sooner.

Comparing Against Other Options

A fair comparison sets the full monthly cost of each option side by side, not a salary against a fee. For a direct UK hire, that means adding employer costs, recruitment, equipment, management time and the cost of a hire that does not work out. Our breakdown of the hidden costs of hiring an employee in the UK goes through each one.

Other remote models carry costs differently again. A freelancer's rate may not include equipment or continuity, and an employer of record handles the employment contract but leaves finding the person to you. Freelancers, agencies, EOR or dedicated professionals sets out who carries what.

Getting More From the Same Budget

  • Define the outcomes first, then choose the lowest experience level that can deliver them.
  • Only ask for the overlap the role needs. A Flexible working zone widens the options.
  • Prove one role before adding more; a monthly subscription makes that easy.
  • Write a clear brief, so the shortlist matches the work. Our guide to writing a role brief shows how.
