How Remoteli Recommends a Talent Market for Your Role
Role, experience, working language and working hours: how the Solution Builder turns four answers into a recommended African talent market, and how you stay in control of the final choice.
Every recommendation comes from four inputs: role, experience level, working language and working hours.
Remoteli recommends a market for each experience level, and the one for the level you choose becomes active.
Each recommendation comes with approved alternative markets, and the price follows whichever market you choose.
Languages other than English, French and Arabic are handled by the Remoteli team rather than by an automatic recommendation.
When you build a solution with Remoteli, the Solution Builder recommends one of eight African talent markets for each role you add: Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Egypt, Senegal or Côte d'Ivoire. This piece explains how that recommendation is reached, what changes it and where you can overrule it. It is about the mechanics. For an overview of the eight markets themselves, see our guide to hiring talent in Africa. If you want advice on how to weigh the choice, read our guide to choosing the right African talent market.
Four Answers, One Recommendation
The recommendation depends on four things you tell us. Nothing else is inferred from your company, your location or your browsing.
The inputs behind every recommendation

Working hours

The inputs behind every recommendation
Behind those inputs sits a recommendation matrix that Remoteli maintains: for every combination of role, language, working hours and experience level, it names one market. The Solution Builder never guesses or averages. If the inputs point to a market, it recommends it; if they do not yet point to one, it waits for the input that settles it.
How the Answer Narrows
The Builder is designed so you see a useful answer early and a precise one by the end.
You choose a service, then a role. As soon as a role is selected, the Builder fills in English and UK & Europe hours as starting points. They are visible and editable, not hidden assumptions.
Each experience level shows its own market. With those starting points, the Junior, Mid and Senior options each show a recommended market and price straight away.
You adjust language and hours. Change either one and all three experience options are recalculated.
You choose the experience level. The recommendation for that level becomes the active one, with its monthly price.
You confirm the market, or choose an alternative. More on that below.
Sometimes the language alone settles the question. Choose Arabic and the recommendation is Egypt before you have picked hours or experience, because Egypt is the Arabic-language market for every role. Choose French and the answer narrows to Senegal or Côte d'Ivoire, with the role and experience level deciding between them. Our guides to French-speaking talent and Arabic-speaking professionals explain those patterns.
Why the Experience Level Changes the Market
It would be simpler to recommend one market per role. It would also be less accurate, because the depth of experienced talent differs between markets. In Remoteli's data, with English and UK & Europe hours, every one of the 38 roles has a different recommended market at one experience level from another.
Customer Support is a typical example: Ghana at Junior and Mid level, South Africa at Senior. Full-Stack Development runs Nigeria, Nigeria, South Africa. That is why the Builder shows a market for each level rather than asking you to pick a market first, and why it never assumes a level for you. If you are torn between two levels, compare both recommendations and prices before deciding.
What Working Hours Do
All eight markets sit between GMT and GMT+3, so working hours tune the recommendation rather than overturn it. For English-language roles they matter most: North American hours tend to point to Nigeria below Senior level, and Asia-Pacific hours to Kenya or Egypt depending on the role. For French and Arabic, the working-hours choice does not change the market at all. Flexible tells Remoteli that you have no strong preference. Our guide to time zones for remote teams covers how to plan the hours themselves.
Alternatives and Your Own Choice
A recommendation is a starting point, not a rule. Under each one, View Alternative Locations shows the markets Remoteli has approved as alternatives for that recommendation and language. The lists are set by Remoteli, not worked out on the fly:
English: the other English-language markets, usually including Rwanda.
French: the other French-language market, plus Rwanda, where French is an official language.
Arabic: Egypt only, with no alternative.
If you choose an alternative, it is marked as your own selection, and the price updates to match the role, experience level and market you have chosen. Rwanda is a good example of a market that appears more often as an alternative than as a first recommendation; our guide to hiring talent in Rwanda explains why you might choose it.
Your choice is respected when other inputs change. If you later change the language, hours or experience level, the Builder does not quietly replace the market you picked. It shows you the new recommendation and lets you decide. Only if your chosen market is no longer an approved option for the new requirements will it ask you to choose again.
When a Person Takes Over
The same applies to anything the four inputs cannot express: a combination of languages, an unusual working pattern or a role that does not match one of the 38. Those go to the Remoteli team rather than being forced into the nearest standard answer. You can contact us to start that conversation.
Checked Again Before You Commit
What you see in the Builder is checked again when you submit your solution. Remoteli's systems confirm that the recommendation is still correct for your inputs, that the market you chose is an approved option, and calculate the price from the same authoritative pricing data, rather than relying on anything shown in the browser. The price you see and the price you are asked to pay come from the same calculation.
What the Recommendation Is Not
It is not a judgement about individuals. It tells you where Remoteli expects to find the strongest fit for your role, level, language and hours. You still meet candidates and choose who joins your team, and the right person matters more than the right country.
