Key takeaways

  • When Arabic is the working language, Remoteli recommends Egypt for all 38 roles, at every experience level and for every working-hours choice.
  • Egypt's typical working week runs Sunday to Thursday, so agree the pattern you need before the professional starts.
  • Egypt observes summer time, which keeps it two hours ahead of the UK for most of the year.
  • Brief for the Arabic your customers actually use, and check that your tools handle right-to-left text.

If your customers write to you in Arabic, an English-only team will always be translating, escalating or guessing. A dedicated Arabic-speaking professional changes that. For Remoteli, the answer to where that person should be based is unusually simple: when Arabic is the working language, the recommendation is Egypt, for every role and every experience level.

This guide covers the Arabic-language side of hiring in Egypt: which roles it suits, how the recommendation behaves, the planning points that matter for Arabic coverage and how to brief. For Egypt's wider profile, including its English-language technical talent, read our guide to hiring talent in Egypt.

Why Egypt for Arabic-Language Work

Article 2 of Egypt's Constitution states that Arabic is the official language of the state. Egypt is also one of Remoteli's eight talent markets, and the only one where Arabic is the official language, which is why every Arabic-language recommendation resolves there.

English matters too, because most employers reading this run their business in English. The U.S. International Trade Administration's country guide notes that in the corporate world English is widely spoken, "though not universally". Treat English as a requirement to specify and test, not an assumption.

Remoteli's approved profile of Egypt lists strengths that include technical support, customer support, software development, data engineering, finance and accounting, and multilingual services. That breadth matters: Arabic-language demand is rarely limited to one team.

How Arabic Recommendations Work

In the Solution Builder, choosing Arabic settles the market early. As soon as you pick a role and select Arabic, the recommendation is Egypt, before you have chosen working hours or an experience level, because no other answer is possible in Remoteli's data.

  • All 38 roles: Egypt is the Arabic-language recommendation across administration, sales, marketing, customer experience, finance and legal support, data and cybersecurity, creative and design, and software development.
  • Every experience level: Junior, Mid and Senior all resolve to Egypt, so you can hire across seniority without splitting the team between countries.
  • Every working-hours choice: UK & Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and Flexible all lead to Egypt. The hours shape the working day, not the market.
  • No alternative markets: unlike English or French requirements, there is no approved alternative location for Arabic.

The price depends on the role and experience level you choose. As a starting point:

If you need Arabic and another language, for example French for North African customers, say so in your brief. Our guide to French-speaking talent in Africa covers the French-language markets, and our explainer on how Remoteli recommends a talent market shows how language interacts with the other inputs.

Roles Where Arabic Makes the Biggest Difference

Arabic pays for itself fastest in roles where the customer hears or reads the language directly, and in the operational roles that sit behind them.

  • Customer Support and Technical Support: first-line and technical answers in Arabic, without a translation step in the middle. See our Customer Experience service page.
  • Client Onboarding and Customer Success: guiding new Arabic-speaking accounts and keeping them, which depends on continuity with the same person.
  • Sales Development and Account Management: outreach to, and relationships with, Arabic-speaking prospects and clients. See Sales & Business Development.
  • Virtual Assistant and Administrative Support: Arabic correspondence, documents, supplier contact and scheduling for a regional office or founder.
  • Social Media Support and Copywriting & Content Writing: Arabic-language channels and content that reads as written for the audience, not translated for it.

The Working Week and Summer Time

Two Egyptian specifics affect Arabic-language coverage more than anything else, and both are easy to plan for once you know about them.

The first is the working week. The U.S. International Trade Administration notes that typical workdays in Egypt run Sunday through Thursday. Remoteli's standard full-time pattern is 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 180 hours a month. If you need a Monday to Friday pattern, or cover that spans both weekends, raise it at the start: working hours outside the standard pattern need operational agreement with Remoteli.

The second is the clock. According to the IANA Time Zone Database, Egypt runs on UTC+2 and moves to UTC+3 from the last Friday of April until the last Thursday of October. Because the UK also changes its clocks, Egypt sits two hours ahead of the UK for most of the year, and one hour ahead for the few weeks between the UK's change in late March and Egypt's in late April. The two countries also change back on different days in late October, so check calendars that week.

For a UK business serving Gulf customers, that puts an Egypt-based professional between your office and your customers for much of the day. Our guide to time zones for remote teams explains how to plan handovers and overlap.

Remoteli professionals are dedicated, full-time contractors. Remoteli manages recruitment, onboarding and ongoing operational support, and you direct the day-to-day work. Subscriptions are monthly and rolling, with no setup fees, and fees exclude VAT.

Starting with One Role or a Small Team

Most businesses start Arabic coverage with a single Customer Support or Virtual Assistant role and learn from the volume that arrives. That is a sensible first step, with one caveat: one person cannot cover every day of the week, every holiday and every spike. Remoteli's new standard subscriptions include 21 days' annual leave and do not include automatic leave cover, so plan who answers Arabic enquiries when your professional is away.

Once the demand is proven, a second role often makes more difference than extending the first one's hours. A Junior Customer Support professional paired with a Mid Customer Success or Account Management professional gives you both breadth and continuity, and because every Arabic-language recommendation is Egypt, the team shares a time zone, a working week and public holidays.

Is Egypt Right for You?

If Arabic is essential to the role, Egypt is the answer in Remoteli's data, and the questions that remain are about seniority, working pattern and how the role fits your team. If Arabic would be useful but not essential, compare the English-language recommendation for the same role, which may point to a different market. Our guide to hiring talent in Africa sets out all eight markets side by side.
